The key to playing better, is COMMUNICATING with your squad.

COMMUNICATE -

If your squad see's tanks, COMMUNICATE and have a sniper (to spot), a specialist (to tracer), and at least one Demolition (to rocket).

If your squad see's ground troops, COMMUNICATE and have an Assault (to kill em), an Assault (to kill em), an Assault (to kill em), and a Support (to heal us).

If your squad see's trouble getting gold crates, COMMUNICATE and have a Demolition (to rocket the crate), a Demolition (to rocket the crate), a Demolition (to rocket the crate), and a Demolition (to rocket the crate).

If your squad see's enemy snipers and your squad is attacking, COMMUNICATE and have a Sniper (to spot long range), a Sniper (to spot long range), an Assult (to cover close to medium range), and a Support (to heal everyone);; And keep moving towards the objective.

If your squad see's enemy snipers and your squad is defending, COMMUNICATE and have a Sniper (to throw motion sensors), a Sniper (to spot long range), an Assult (to cover close to medium range), and a Support (to heal everyone);; And relax, bercause snipers rarely do any good when attacking.

More to come, add yours.

Grab the QBU88 sniper rifle and go to enemy base or near it. While the chopper is on the ground, unload one full clip into the chopper, then reload and wait.
When the enemy jumps in the chopper, shoot it like 2 or 3 more times, it explodes before the enemy can get out.

Oh, I think this one might apply to all games but, SLOW DOWN.
Running into battle usually ends up with you dying and the enemy getting more points.
There are those cowboys out there that sometimes get lucky and actually kill a few enemies, but most of the time it looks like a bunch of Meat Shields going to the slaughter.
When my squad goes slower, we are seeing more of the battle around us, we have time to react to situations because we are prepared for them. We strategically take and clear certain sections of the map and/or buildings before moving on. If we take on heavy fire, we don't try to kill the dude first, we back off and take a defensive position and make him come to us. Dudes can't stand to wait so he comes and we kill him. Off we go to the next fight and push the enemy back one step at a time. We don't get many points in the beginning but by the end of the game, we usually have the most points, kills, and least deaths. Getting the Best Squad Trophey is a common occurance.
So SLOW THE *##* DOWN.

When firing assault rifles such as the M16 or AN94 try to fire in bursts - it reduces the spread and use the iron sights.

When on Urban maps, try and take the opposing forces from the side and not head on. Though they'll certainly expect an attack from the side or from their 6' they won't know where it may come from, use this to you're advantage.

In addition, if the team you are on are getting rushed and surrounded - try and expand out and provide a base of fire or slip through to capture another flag and give you're team a fighting chance to fight in another environment.

On Vehicle heavy maps, the squad should have at least 1 demo, 1 specialist with either a support for health and a Recon class to spot incoming threats.
The specialist class should focus on placing tracers on incoming vehicles, the demo can then fire at will at the vehicle - with the sniper providing cover fire and constant stream of information - the support class can provide health and provide ground fire to opposing forces that may decide to exit vehicles.

On maps such as Harvest day (For those that play Gold Rush) on defense, you've got a number of stationary weapons that can be used directly to take on tanks and infantry - they can also be laser designated by your team when a vehicle is in range. This allows you to call down a missile without alerting the vehicle to your presence and the 500 Pounds of explosive bout to come down on them.
Though smarter players will usually jump out when they hear the jet scream overhead -- this opens them up to ground fire.

Again, on Gold rush - Try using the Light Tanks to put damage on the gold crates - I think they do about 10-15% damage each hit which is very very handy. Spawning as a Demo class and putting damage on the gold crate is great, especially when opposing forces around the gold crate are hard to get through.

When playing the support class, fire you're machine gun from the crouch position - you portray a smaller target, gives the machine gun stability when firing therefore reducing the spread of bullets fired, my person favorites are the default guns and the MG36.

Battlefield is a game that has counters to everything, its just how you play the game that matters, the squad dynamic should cater to every occasion to ensure that every threat can be neutralized.

When you're in a Heavy Tank and you're up against another heavy tank or Light tank, always try to make sure you're front is facing the opposing tank - the thickest armous will provide most protection and depending on where the shot hits you - you may take around 20-30% damage.

In addition, if you spot the opposing tank first - take your time to aim up and fire, please note that the Sabot fired will arch down so aim slightly higher than usual.

Heavy Tank Vs Heavy Tank.
Try and face the front of your tank to the other tank as said above, when you take the shot -- instantly move away so when the opposing tank fires... the opposing tank will then fire where you were... not where you are.

If you're fighting a heavy tank with a light tank - the key is moving, and attacking it from the 6' o clock where the Armour is the weakest. You'll be able to put a considerable amount of damage on him for a demo to finish the tank off.

When moving from location to location, primarily on foot.Try sprinting for a short distance and then walk for about 3 to 4 seconds and scout for possible threats.

Try to move from one cover point to the next. Avoid crossing open space. When you are in the open, sprint as stated by Caboose.

Like Caboose said and i have said many many times... just because u hold down fire longer than ur opponent does not mean u will kill them.. that opponent could tap "Fire" 3-4 times and u are dead.. which can happen quicker than u simply holding that fire button and hoping for the best... it has worked on EVERY single shooter ame I have played including but not limited to... World at war, BF2, BFBC, Killzone2, and Socom. Burst shots is the key and gives the server a better chance of tracking all of ur bullets and in return give u better accuracy which in return could save ur life.. lol

I also think that positioning of squad members are also important on maps aswell.

The battlefield is basically a chess game - you use specific pieces to advance in a given direction - therefore the positioning of defense and attack should be important.

Again, I'll be dealing with mainly Gold Rush maps.

Right off the top of my head, On Harvest day - you can choose to have the sniper/Demo/Support classes on the high ground and have the specialist + support/sniper near main roads and bushes to spot incoming forces and Trace incoming vehicles. The Demo class being on higher ground and having a bigger field of vision can fire at will from higher ground.. always taking cover once rockets are fired to hide from sniper and incoming fire from vehicles.

The danger is vehicles coming from the opposite side of the river -- but that would be why you'd have the specialist run down the main road and taking cover near the riverbank to spot vehicles on either side of the riverbank and with the Demo/sniper/support class on the higher ground - they can spot opposing vehicles making a run on the far right hand side of the map (when attacking) and taking the crates from behind.

Another example i can think of is Oasis, Snipers can be on either side of the riverbank taking positions either on hills, near riverbanks or idealy in the 2 Story buildings to the left to spot incoming forces.
The specialist and Demo class can be based in the small cluster of buildings on main road to spot/trace incoming forces (mainly tanks) -- this road should be mined to create a bottleneck for vehicles that will then be forced to advance using the riverbank allowing for maximum damage from the demo (whom should be hiding within the buildings) rockets, which should be fired into the rear of vehicles.
